ABOUT

A personnal project of mine I made in 2022 just after the Vampire survivors phenomena. I wanted to prove to my self that I can do the same, if not better. I let you judge that by yourself.

The game is fully playable but it has no audio. But otherwise, the overall polish is pretty good, and most importantly the game is fun.

The game is an arena dopamine twin stick shooter RPG, with roguelike elements, focusing on synergies, inspired by the greatest. 

There are some stupids, brokens and OP skills, things like : damage +100% but hp set to 1, roll a dice that can buff you or kill you, greatly increase your cast rate but you totally loose control over your aim, your projectiles can be controlled by your mind, your projectile orbit around you, etc... Binding of Isaac style.

There are many enemies with unique attack patterns (some can dodge your attacks, became invisible, be aware of you only if you attack them, and some can slide on the floor and bounce on the walls for example) , there are also a few bosses.

CONTROLS

-WASD/ZQSD/ARROWS to move

-SPACE to dash/teleport (Give short contact damage and invulnerability frames/and shockwave damage for teleport)

-MOUSE to aim

-LEFT CLICK to cast an energy ball (You can hold the button)

-RIGHT CLICK to cast an active skill (You must have the MP)

-MOUSE WHEEL to change active skill

-You gain XP by collecting the gems and you can choose 1 skills out of 3 random skills each level up. 

-You can choose a special skills (HP up, DMG up, MP up) after each bosses fight.

-Somes skills have multiple levels

-You can find mana and health potions after killing a mob (The luck stat increase that)

DEBUG/CHEAT FEATURES

-SHIFT to level up

-MOUSE WHEEL to choose any perks during the make a wish screen

THE FUTURE

I don't know if I will finish that game one day since I think some devs have done a better job than me in the genre, so do the world really need another survivor clone ?

uh man i really want to do something like this for a next jam

I didn't made that for a jam to reassure you ! 

This represent weeks of work, for 0 game design proposition and 0 originality. Its just another uninspired clone with golden paint on top of it. Don't be fooled by the art, this thing may be fun, but it's shallow as the hell...

Recently I changed my mind about what a good game should be, and now I think this was a terrible dev mistake. 

I'm more proud about my melon jam entry made in 72H than this game made in 2-3 weeks, because at least it try something new.
